For my own part, I am pleased enough with surfaces -- in fact they alone seem to me to be of much importance. Such things for example as the grasp of a child's hand in your own, the flavor of an apple, the embrace of a friend or lover, the feel of music, the bark of a tree, the abrasion of sand, the plunge of clear water into a pool, the face of the wind, the physics of sex, -- what else is there? What else do we really need? (paraphrased from Abbey) I am an ecologist working as a consultant but missing the freedom of academia. My interests are many and range from the conservation of moving water...freshwater to sea, communities and their ecology, how systems work, conservation that works, teaching all about the interconnectedness of our world and us, ecosystem services, .... to Stieglitz pictorialism photography, earthy/moody/erotic poetry, making good music and listening to better, cooking for and with friends and my kids.
