There is so much I haven't done, things I could have done if I hadn't made quite a few bad decisions. So this blog is somewhat of a catharsis in response to a life of silent outrage at the system and finding peace in one form or another in the process. |

Jul 4, 6:38pm (1 review) politics, economy, recovery-act, biden http://www.alternet.org/blogs/peek/14108...- From the page: "In a new article, Time's Michael Scherer describes how Vice President Biden has been aggressively reaching out to mayors on the their use of stimulus money. "My rear end is on the line just like yours,"said Biden on a recent conference call with five mayors and county executives. Im the guy in charge of this deal. So if this doesn't work, it's me." In a follow-up blog post, Scherer reveals that Biden has talked to 'dozens of mayors and 47 of the 50 state governors about the Recovery Act."
One interesting fact that didn"t make it into the story. Since March, Biden has talked, usually in conference calls, to dozens of mayors and 47 of the 50 state governors about the Recovery Act. The three governors who have not yet been on the line, though they have been invited: Alaska"s Sarah Palin, Texas" Rick Perry and Louisiana's Bobby Jindal. You can draw your own conclusioonans."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Oh no, I know that when Obama tapped Biden for VP, Biden told him that he wanted to be all major decisions, the Recovery Act is an example. A real nail biter that one is. VP Biden, I know, is the person in charge of a "safe withdrawal from Iraq and he knows that the problem over there is political, not military - even all the presidential candidates agreed with the then Senator Biden agreed with him on that. As for the economy, Biden wanted to take care of a broken middle class - Bush wanted that one - no middle class, just the poor or rich. I'm confident that all this will work out. The problem is that none of this is going to happen over night, it's is going to take time and I'm biting my nails for my dear Joe Biden!

Jul 4, 5:45am (1 review) socialism, protests, albania, democracy, wars http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-wires...- TIRANA, Albania -- Albania's opposition Socialists charged Saturday that the ruling Democrats were improperly trying to influence the country's lengthy vote count by declaring victory before all ballots from last week's national election were tallied.
Albania joined NATO in April and has been under intense international pressure to ensure the June 28 vote was free of the fraud that marred the first six elections held after the Balkan country's communist regime fell in 1990.
But the Socialists threatened to hold street protests after election authorities declared late Friday that Prime Minister Sali Berisha's Democrats had won enough seats to form a government.
The country's electoral commission is re-counting ballots from some polling stations following complaints about irregularities and the Socialists insist it cannot declare that the Democrats won 71 seats while recounts are still pending. They accuse Berisha of trying to sway the electoral commission.
"I appeal to Berisha to abandon the idea of imposing himself on the Albanian people ... unless he wants to meet and face the people in the street," said Gramoz Ruci, a senior Socialist politician.
Both main parties ran on similar platforms, pledging to lift Albania out of poverty and secure its goal of joining the European Union.

These protests, wars, climate change, economy, and many other events that are occurring rapidly (like labor pains), if anything should get their bibles out. When are the powers that be realize that not everyone wants democracy, dammit!!!

I and several of my friends suffer from chronic pain and we really have a difficult time explaining why we need help, how even a minor thing like picking something up from the floor, getting a shower, just day to day we all have to do. It's difficult to say we can't or need help in going to the grocery store.
This web site might explain our predicament, but I have such a hard time with it. Add this to the fact that a lot of us don't have a car and rely on public transport. We can see the fleeting look in their eyes that say "not really, but I will" when I ask for a ride about 15 miles from where I live to go to the doctor once a month---and then there's the money for a ride. Maybe this will help clear up the situation.
