Cody Simms Joins StumbleUpon as Vice President of Product

Consumer Internet Expert Joins Company’s Senior Leadership Team

SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(Marketwire – Jun 28, 2012) – StumbleUpon, the easiest way to find new and interesting things from across the Web, today announced that Cody Simms, most recently a Vice President of Product Management at Yahoo!, has joined the company’s executive team as Vice President of Product.

In his new role, Simms will oversee all of StumbleUpon’s product management and design efforts, including the StumbleUpon consumer property and the Paid Discovery advertising platform. Simms is working in StumbleUpon’s San Francisco headquarters.

Simms spent seven years at Yahoo!, where he was most recently Vice President of Product Management, overseeing Yahoo!’s entertainment and lifestyles product portfolio globally including Yahoo! Movies, Yahoo! Music, Yahoo! TV, omg!, Shine and Yahoo! Games. Cody also served as a lecturer at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism from 2007-2010, where he instructed graduate degree seekers on Internet entrepreneurialism, community and social networking. Earlier in his career, Cody held product management positions at The New York Times, Sprint, NBC Internet, and He holds an MA in Transnational Communications and Global Media from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kansas with a BA in history and East Asian languages and cultures. When he’s not online, Cody can often be found in the Pacific Ocean on his surfboard, trying to make his Kansas family proud by actually catching some waves.
