RESPONSIBILITY?

This thread does not ask, indirectly, "Why do black people think the government owes them a living?"

It does ask, Why does Jesse jackson think the government owes them a living and why do Libs defend it?

If David Duke Said the Gubmint should take corrective action for his lack of good choices that led to his irresponsibility would it still be racist to question it? Should the gubmint give David Duke and his followers money?

Back to the original question; don't you think the govt. has any responsibility to legislate for progressive change after encouraging irresponsible white people to make irresponsible laws to insure the oppression of civil rights for blacks in the century after reconstruction?

Jackson thinks the govt. owes blacks a living? I didn't get that out of that quote.

"....the collective moral responsibility of government and the public policy which would be a corrective action for the lack of good choices that often led to their irresponsibility."

Apply that to the situation in the south which festered after the Civil War and you might understand the need for corrective actions.

21 - You did not ask "Why did Jesse Jackson" think...". You asked where in the constitution is it written that it is the "gubments" responsibility to take corrective actions for an individuals poor choices. You loaded the question with racial overtones by quoting Jackson, linking to Jackson and Obama and intentionally using the pronunciation of the word "government" to sound like a specific American accent usually associated with black people.

The short answer to the old question is it isn't. No such rights are given in the constitution. If you want an answer to the new question you posted in 21 then read no further than 22.

I didn't load it with anything, If someone says something retarded I cant help what color they are.

No matter who said what it is not the gubments responsibility moral or otherwise to take corrective action for someone elses lack of good choices.

17) "This thread asks, indirectly, "Why do black people think the government owes them a living?","

I don't get that out of
" It is the gubments "RESPONSIBILITY" to take corrective action for an individuals lack of good choices, where is that in the constitution?"

Or

"Is it the lack of good choices that leads to irresponsibility, or is it more likely that irresponsibility leads to lack of good choices?"

There is not a single person alive today who was born a slave at least not born in the USA.

ONLY YOUR OWN BAD CHOICES CAN LEAD TO YOUR IRRESPONSIBILITY.

You don't seem to understand the interconnectivity of the citizen and the system. The line between responsible and irresponsible behavior is not absolute and is largely culturally and (in a democracy,) judicially conditioned. If the laws are unjust and favor some groups over others, it encourages the disenfranchised to seek some means of by-passing or short-circuiting the system in ways deemed irresponsible by conventional norms but seem to offer promise and relief from a no-win situation.

The Civil War was an instance of the government taking corrective action for a practice that was perceived as morally irresponsible, inhumane and unjust, regardless of the combination of individual or collective choices which may have led to that state of affairs.

In the end, the government is only responsible for whatever we the people say it is responsible for.

I like how he said he wanted to cut Obamas nuts off. That was pretty funny.

Oh, and PBR, you can say whatever you want, but your question is still loaded. If you want to talk about race, fine. If you want to talk about Jesse Jackson, again, fine. Let's just be above board about it rather than veiling it in racist conjecture. Just say what you mean and no one will arrive at the wrong conclusions.

29- I thot the cutting the nuts off comment was funny too. Whats all this have to do with race anyway??
