I'd like to welsome everyone to the Unitarianism Group... I'm surprised that this group hasn't been created earlier, I think there could be some great discussion here... So pull up a chair, pour a cup of joe, and jump in whenever you like! :)
I can imagine... I admit that I have yet to attend a UU service, but once I've moved back to Chicago I plan on starting... if I can get my butt up on Sunday morning! lol
I've been to the north shore UU in deerfield (northern suburb). Gary is the minister there & I just adore him- he was also the minister in my H.S. church elsewhere. I think he's incredible. The post 9/11 sermons he gave just about saved my life. He's a big poetry fan too, which is cool. The church looks like a star trek set, however.
Hehe interesting... I just got back to Chicago a couple days ago, I plan on visiting Second Unitarian in Lakeview this Sunday... I think I'll leave my Vulcan ears at home though... lol
If you're ever in Baltimore come to the UU church here. It's beautiful. I believe it's the second oldest in the country. Actually I just posted about it in the queers and allies group :)
Hello!!! i am in the process of being raised UU and i live in chicago
i go to Beverly Unitarian on the south side (it's the castle) and we are rellly really small and don't cumucate with all the other church's in chicago but hopefully that's gonna change cause my youth groupe is soo smal(3 people including me) but i realy want to network with any chicago UU teens.if there are any here i also go to the youth CON's which are the greatest thing that has ever happened to me in my 16 years of life (excpt for birth)
Hi. I'm new to this group and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Julie. Like loafalini, I was also raised U.U. It seems like there are a lot of people from Illinois in here. I am from IL too, but not the Chicago area. I'm originally from the Rockford-area, but I live in Bloomington-Normal now. I'm glad there's a U.U. group on Stumbleupon! :)
