I don't use all around SEO software. You really won't find much that's good either. Most offer outdated recommendations that generally aren't worth the price of the software.

SEO isn't really about looking for formulaic approaches to ranking well. There was a time when it was, but the search engines have evolved since then.

The best approach is really to get a good understanding of the basic principles, build a good site that people want to visit and link to, and then start getting the word out about your content by participating online.

Some tools can have their uses like the keyword tools. Most of the tools guaranteeing to improve your rankings though aren't really worth the money.

I suggest WebCEO Professional. It is very useful, even though I do not rely on such tools entirely.

Thanks guys I know these programs are not the answer to SEO. I Just need some help organizing and saving time as i have a lot of sites to keep an eye on. Its also handy to monitor stats of course. Vangoogh99 surely good softwere would add to the implementation of the correct principles and give you that extra edge, or google placement? I just want to add to my SEO approaches and principles and raise the bar as well as make my life easier.

Tools have their place, but you should only rely on them to automate backlink checking and check out certain aspects of sites.

I have heard WebCEO is good.

4: if you have clients as we do backpackit.com [backpackit.com] helps break things down, and they can also share an account with you.
If you need time tracking use this myhours.com [myhours.com]

We run our own stats on our local host.

And use a few keyword services, we likeword tracker wordtracker.com [wordtracker.com] but wrote a couple of our own for more detailed searches for certain clients.
Link quality assessment tools are pretty cool.

All in all there really hasn't been an all around SEO Tool Kit that has done anything besides what we do with blood sweat and tears, buts there are goodies that save you some time and help you move along faster with better results.

Good Luck.

Edit: We can't add links anymore for now, but here's a list of tools you may want to browse:

WebCEO is quite all right but I use mainly Advanced Web Ranking for the ranking check. Most other tasks can't be done by a piece of software...

WebCeo has one of the best automated ranking mechanisms, but you do need to pay for the 'knowledgebase' licence because it 'takes time and effort' to actually build in stuff for all those small search engines nobody cares about.

You can try it out with 5 words for free to get an idea. the keyword word searcher is useless, as they do go for something of their own while most traffic actually happens on google, yahoo and msn (nothing they monitor).

the editor is only usable for hand build sites (who uses that anymore?) and other features are kind of okay but not really good. I have yet to find another good ranking tool, because web ceo does export and some checks well. I am actually going to renew my licence for a shorter time I think to do some ranking checks.

I've found WebCEO to be slow and ends up giving you loads of results to sift through. Very time consuming. For checking rankings I use Advanced Web Ranking which is reasonably priced and does it's job. For everything else do manually log my progress in word docs/excel files and using online tools for keyword research and stuff like that.
