10#
check out dogpile.com and search for it under audio but don't add the rm or ram files like i did ;-)
because it won't work in the SU Music Player

And C-H-L-O-E just told me that you can upload tunes to snapdrive.net [snapdrive.net]
and you will be able to play them in the SU Music Player

Screwed up the url somehow: 3hive.com [3hive.com]

Yes this is promising. Especially if hxseven enables some editing features for playlist song order etc. as webjay does. I like the skin too.

Entranced and/or others seeking source sites: Oddio Katya's guide to cool and legal sites for mp3s: oddiooverplay.com/there/network.html [oddiooverplay.com/there/network.html] points in many directions. For example: ecbrown.org/linkpage.htm [ecbrown.org/linkpage.htm] While you might find a few dated or expired links, many are still active.

sam-diablo: killrockstars.com [killrockstars.com] might be a start for ya'. I haven't checked it out for many moons so I can't recommend any thing in particular. Did find Deerhoof there awhile back I think. Check out artists on myspace with "download" links too.

Related: webjay.org [webjay.org] began employing this method of creating playlists by deep linking to mp3s back around 2003 or 4. I found a lot of obscure stuff there. A year or so ago, it became overrun with redundant playlists of mainstream alt and indie rock, so if that's your thing, go there. All others could still find some value perhaps, using their search feature or sifting through the forums for links to sites with mp3s - webjay.org/deep/forum/index.php [webjay.org/deep/forum/index.php]

If you're looking for post rock, electronic, experimental, pop or spoken word; feel free to sift through my webjay lists. Though they are peppered with expired links there are still some gems left. webjay.org/by/AgentA [webjay.org/by/AgentA]

#15 Thank you. Most exquisite. Now I just need a broadband connection :|

(I'm such a scatterbrain, mixing up extensions) correction: myspace download links only seem to work with this player: mymonsterspace.com/flashmp3player [mymonsterspace.com/flashmp3player]
Note: I've only tried it by embedding it on myspace page so I don't know if it it'll work elsewhere, might be a dependent extension such as this one.

I just tried it and am a little disapointed, maybe because this sounded too much like a dream come true.

Of course the basic idea is remarkable, but this thing needs some adjustments:

- One should be able to turn it off. Right now, once it's turned on, the player remains on the screen even when the visitor has left the blog.

- There should be a feature enabling the user to directly upload mp3s to the player or a "SU-Player"-homepage. I know there's a lot of free mp3-stuff on the net, but the main idea should be to include stuff from ones own music-archive, not stuff one would play because it's "legal".

You can turn it off and close the player.

You can upload the mp3's to the player database. See the fax. :)

To play your own music archive you can just use the player on your p.c. I thought this was cool because you can listen to other peoples choices hence getting another dimension of who they are through their blog.

Hi Entranced! Thanks for the great answer !
( It's really good that some people answering the
questions, because as ever I'm very busy)

I really would like to include the functions gropiuskalle told
above. But because of some security restrictions in all modern
browsers it is not possible to access another frame if it is
hosted on another domain. That's the reason why I can't detect
where somebody clicks and if he leaves the currently blog.

As solution for this problem I included a close button.
And for me this is not really a problem, because if I
want to click on an external link I just open it in a new tab
(in firefox) by holding the CTRL key while clicking
on a link. That works fine for me :)

As I wrote on the FAQ page, uploading MP3s is not possible
because I don't have enough webspace for that and the
traffic usage would not be payable for me (I don't earn
anything from the music player or my website).

And it may also possible that some users upload MP3s
that are copyrighted, and as everybody know's the
music industry doesn't like that...

Anyway, have fun with the player :)
