Hello all, I'm an incorrigible INFJ, which causes no small amount of, um...creative sparks...between my ESFP wife and I ;)
I'm fairly new to SU, but am really enjoying broadening my horizons a little and seeing what others are surfing. Thanks Wyrdsister for getting this started!

Hi there. I am proudly and INFJ. I found this out at a leadership conference which included completion of the Myers Briggs...I was the only one in the group and the presenter indicated that this type could "frighten and intimidate people". Check out my website thepertinentquestions.blogspot.com[thepertinentquestions.blogspot.com] as I started a discussion about personality types. Would love to hear your thoughts on this issue. Anyway, I don't perceive myself as very frightening at all. Seems there is some stigma attached to our type. what do you think?
I dunno about any stigmas, but INFJs seem to be very good at being honest with themselves, and with others. When I was younger and had less self confidence I would shy away from confrontation. Not any more. I still prefer smooth and peaceful interactions with people, but I'm no longer afraid to stand my ground when I know I'm right. That sort of confidence can intimidate people, especialy those who seek to manipulate others. I will not be manipulated or bullied, and bullys find that most intimidating. As do many sales reps, bill collectors, insurance agents, lawyers or anyone else who wants to try to sway you and your opinions for their own benefit.
Maybe that is the issue. I am very upfront and honest and have been told that initially this trait can be intimidating. Those who are in my circle tend to appreciate this fact because they know, if they ask, I will tell them what I really think and not just what I think they want to hear. Personally, I only hope that others will be as equally up front and honest with me.
My name is just-linda and I am an INFJ. I think I'm with you all in that our honesty can be perceived as 'intimidating' - some people can't handle the truth. People find me alternately aloof, and 'intimidating'. Naturally, I have my wild side as well. I think we're hard to 'pigeon hole', and that disturbs 'them'. haha...
Hi everybody, I'm an INFJ aswell. I think our type is great for self-improvement and conscious evolution. I love talking with fellow INFJ's as I haven't encountered much at all!
