CH,
let me know your reasons on what you decide

I made a backup of my profile, just in case. But I didn't need it.
Firefox 2 imported the old profile perfectly.

Hmm. I was just about to say goodbye and uninstall.

Reasons? Stated on previous upgrades: simply an opportunity to tidy up, review which extensions I consider essential and so forth.

My SU config, for example, is littered with references to non-existent accounts (which I have set up to test new features, and subsequently had deleted).

Plus. There is no reason 2.

Do I need to uninstall the version I am using or can I install FF2 on top of it?

You can do either. Whichever you are more comfortable with.

Me, I'm going for a un-, tidy-up, re-install. I may be gone some time. *waves*

15. Yeah, what CH said, an uninstall will clean up your FF folder... you won't lose your profile. 2.0 is very stable (has been for awhile).

I'm even throwing my profile away. Completely devil-may-care.

All I need now is a list of all the FF components stored on Mac (I used to know this stuff, back when I was PC).

Post-install:

That was relatively painless.

Issue #1: my SU toolbar icons are spaced out horribly. (SU 2.86, OS X 10.4.8, FF 2.0 (standard theme only), "icons only" option).

Grab SU 2.87.
