Okay, I just have one problem with this system that makes it useless to me. About half the websites I visit require at least 1 letter and at least 1 number. Some require lowercase and uppercase plus at least 1 number. This chart only produces alphabetic passwords. However, it is good for more than 1 website. Simply use the name of the website as the phrase. It is cumbersome though, and there are programs that do the exact same thing and integrate seamlessly into your browser.
Unless I'm missing the point, this is good for creating an ad hoc (one site only) secure password. No much good if (like most savvy bitizens) you need many. Because, of course, you wouldn't use the same password on more than one site - Would you!
all well and good, but what about remembering the different passwords? I currently maintain about 200 secure passwords, which I don't even know. I only have to remember one. Roboform does the rest.. I don't usually punt commercial gear but until someone creates an open source password manager that has the same secuity and functionality as Roboform, I'll continue to recommend them...
Good idea, good concept, just needs more use!
an easy way to make difficult passwords
I've lots of customers asking me what's the best password to use, and every time I tell them to randomize and use alphanumerics with different letter casing and preferably with special characters, they'll just complain to me that it is just too difficult to remember.
But hey, you want the best secure one right?
Anyway, this website would be great as now they just need to remember some simple phrases and the website and it's done.
it's intuitive and simple.
You can figure out how to make your own password chart by looking at this site. You can also can look use this web as a reminder if you forgot your password (it happens to me sometimes).
Not bad, but there are repetitions and stuff that can make a password not very secure.
people worry about stuff too much .> "i hope this does not save my imputs." < give me a break. no one wants to hack into your myspace to see you friends that dont even know who you are and no one wants to hack you email account that your mom loves to send you little inspirational forwards everyday. dont be a fag.
Could be useful, I hate to come up with my passwords.
it's just a simple cypher. Not very secure.
Handy and easy to use.
good for people who can't think of a secure password themselves.
Wish I could see the value in this one.
Damn, I wish this was a Firefox plugin.
