The Environmental Working Group mission is to use the power of public information to protect public health and the environment.
Protect the most vulnerable segments of the human population children, babies, and infants in the womb from health problems attributed to a wide array of toxic contaminants.
Replace federal policies, including government subsidies that damage the environment and natural resources, with policies that invest in conservation and sustainable development.
Hmmm.. Regarding the accuracy and reliability of the EWG...

From the page: "Urge your Senators to support the FDA Food Safety
Modernization Act and Senator Feinstein's amendment to ban BPA in baby
The U.S. Senate is expected to take action on critical federal food
safety legislation, the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, as early as
this week. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) plans to offer an amendment
to this bill that would ban the hormone-disrupting chemical bisphenol A
(BPA) from sippy cups, baby bottles, baby food and infant formula.
We need a strong show of support! Contact your Senators TODAY and urge
them support both the new food safety bill and Senator Feinstein's BPA
amendment." [Form on the site.]
research on health, environment, natural resources, products, legislative and regulatory policy.
At EWG, our team of scientists, engineers, policy experts, lawyers and computer programmers pores over government data, legal documents, scientific studies and our own laboratory tests to expose threats to your health and the environment, and to find solutions. Our research brings to light unsettling facts that you have a right to know.

It would be nice to eliminate as many of the unhealthy compounds from our lives as possible and this site helps to at least identify some of the problems.
Environment and Health. Interesting and informative. Non profit creating great work.
Ever wonder which products were the safest to use? The EWG databases are very helpful -- from veggies most likely to be over-sprayed with pesticides and those that are not to personal grooming products with the best and the worst ingredients.
Very informative website.
EWG helps us learn more about our environment, so we can better protect it and ourselves.
how safe is your sunscreen and soap
Great place for product info.
This is one of my favourite sites. They are doing so much for food and cosmetic safety. Check out Skindeep, their cosmetic and personal care product database too. You can check ingredients and toxicity etc.
A great site!!!
Very cool. Check out the farm subsidies under Consumer Tools.
