In my country, our first female president was somewhat overweight. Just like many other, male, politicians and presidents have been. Still, she was ridiculed by everyone for being fat. Fifteen million people judging the president for her appearance, her beauty or sexiness; if you will, her mating potential. It disgusts me. My mother has done the same thing to me, and now I can't get it out of my head that if I have a few extra pounds, I don't deserve to be happy. I'm depressed, for one reason only. I'm not even close to overweight according to my BMI of 22, and still, depressed, medicated, constantly dieting. Fuck society. Fuck it, for what it's done to me, and all women.
That said, the woman shown in the article is pathologically obese and her health is probably seriously compromised. It's the 'you must be skinny as a stick to validate your existence' crap that makes me ill, not 'you should avoid a heart attack'.
