Great list of films: Logan's Run, Soylent Green, War of the Worlds, City of Children, Planet of the Apes, Escape from New York, etc. They're all here (except for the charlie Chaplin the site's authors admitted to forgetting about). #1 on the list? the original Metropolis from the 1920's. i've seen all but 3 of the films on this list. excellent list, except that district 13 sounds much more like reality where i live, except that no parkour experts are fighting the drug dealers. both jean pierre jeunet (direntor of amelie) and francois traffuat have more than one entry on this list, which really impress me.

The City of Lost Children and Battle Royale are some of my favorite movies, glad they're there. Especially because City of Lost Children is really underrated. But I wouldn't really think of War of The Worlds as a dystopian.

I think people making lists like this should stop using titles like "TOP 50 x OF ALL TIME" in favour of something more realistic, like "50 REALLY GREAT x" but that's just a minor grudge, still a great list.

Pretty solid list with some good movies. The math is a little suspect though, they should have been weighting the results given the great discrepancy between the number of voters from the two sources.
