I'd be interested to see some data from studies on this - more than the referenced brain scans. Seems very plausible though on the surface.
I have noticed that I sometimes feel refreshed after yawning, but I think there are yawns and then there are yawwwwns. I have been so sleepy that I could not stop yawning and it did not rejuvenate me. However, if I'm simply mildly sluggish, yawning does wake up my brain. Good article!
