Mother Jones - NEWS ... Smart , fearless journalism
I love Mother Jones :D
Mother Jones is a nonprofit news organization that specializes in investigative, political, and social justice reporting""
Left wing extremists who want to outlaw everything and force their personal beliefs on everyone are just as bad as right wing extremists who want to outlaw everything and force their personal beliefs on everyone. Maybe even worse.
Basic everyday reading.
Award winning site/mag that specializes in investigative journalism, but without being dry or crunchy. If you read it years ago, take another look. It's not your mother's Mother Jones.
Federal Reserve may hand over hundreds of billions of tax-payers money to America's biggest banks. Dean Baker examines the reasons this is a bad idea, both the obvious and the not-so-obvious.
Sensational, but not in an "entertainment news" kind of way like main stream news, which puts hard news in the back seat behind celebrity deaths, cats stuck in trees and tragic stories about nice old ladies in a neighborhood just like yours. Sensational in the HARD NEWS kind of way, where they give you stories that are usually buried because they're too terrible or the advertisers would be uncomfortable. The kind of interesting stuff that shocks and amazes because you hadn't even thought of the juicy problem they're putting a spotlight on, like children born to women who are in prison or the absence of a national water plan.

Finally stumbleupon this great liberal magazines web page.
Glad I found this.
This site and Truthdig are both usually worth looking at.
A couple years ago I was reading Mother Jones on the bus coming home from work and someone commented that they didn't think anyone read Mother Jones anymore. That would be a shame. You don't have to be a liberal to get something out of Mother Jones, obviously the die hard Bush and cronies lovers would find it offensive, but Mother Jones doesn't give any party a pass when it comes to discussing issues.
