colors that "indicate" things are well and good but are so one dimensional and rather a superficial understanding of psychology. Its just bothersome, especially when there is so much analysis to be done.
Where's the boy's room?
Orange is the color to stimulate hunger; Not red.
Yellow is the productive color; Hence note pads.
Where's my paint?? I want to increase my productivity!! But I lack blue paint!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!
Paint your daughter's room pink. Not to conform to gender stereotypes, but to 'warm and calm'. Because naturally, your daughter is cold and excitable. Must be because of her tendency for female hysterics.
Research only supports a scant few of the claims about colors made here. Much of this is cultural, and I suspect the rest is the author's/artist's preference. Take with large grain of salt.
