While I agree people should not focus so much on things of little importance such as drama created by others, there is an important place in life for skepticism, and trying to be as happy as possible is not the way to go. There are people dying, starving, being raped everyday. Just trying to "be happy" all the time is not going to get things done.
So I should only talk to funny people and ignore those dramatic, hungry ones?
Bad advice. Don't be a fair-weather friend... you should genuinely care about your friends. I would hope that they would be there for you if you were ever in a bad situation. Life is too short to look after only your own interests.
This is actually pretty good advice, unlike most of the myspace-cutesy crap quotes that float around. People who spit on this advice are probably cynical fuck-tards anyway.
I wish it was this easy.
die in a fucking fire. i was really hopeful for humanity and thinking that this was only liked by trolls who are in on the "word pictures are for girls in high school that want to sound deep on their myspaces" joke, but then i just had to read the comments section...
This actually happened to me today, 21 March 2010. My car broke down and I had to call AAA. The guy who answered made me laugh so hard, I totally forgot I was waiting for the tow truck. I'm saying a little prayer for him.
AAA: Has your car been modified?
Me: Like, how? Like have I ever changed the tires?
AAA: [laughs] No. Like have you installed a lift kit? Do you have hydraulics?
Me: [giggling] Oh yeah, I do that all the time. But I've only finished the one, and the other three still have the original hub caps. Does that count?
AAA: [chuckles] So where are the other three? On lay-away?
I felt like I was living in that song, "Lazy Sunday."
It's difficult to find people that make you laugh. I think young children are the best. Everything they say and do is so pure and innocent that I can't help but give a chuckle at the simplicity of life through their eyes.
