OHMYGOD I WANT ONE.
OHMYGOD I WANT ONE.
They have already been pets for some time already. And foxes that are socialized right make great pets, just like skunks and raccoons. Exotics can not be bred by just by any one. You have to have a USDA license. Its harder to own an exotic as well, b/c of the license you have to have to own most exotics. Most breeders require you to have exotic knowledge before selling you one. It is not like owning a cat or dog, all the way around! Maybe we should have stricter laws on breeding and owning dogs. Maybe the right to own a dog should come with heavy fees, and hard to obtain licenses just like owning an exotic.
IMO I don't believe that. IMO the blatant disposal of pets in shelters, and being killed will stop when people stop killing their own kids. Just as many kids are killed each year by abortions or after birth from ir-responsible parents. We live in a disposable society, and if this society is disposing of its own people with no re-guard, WHY will that society stop disposing of its pets???!!!!
I don't know how I feel about this one. Seems fine to me that a pygmy-ish fox is out there and is domesticated. My dream is to own and care for a community of red pandas, so at some point taking them out of thw wild has to happen to pretect cetain species.
fennec foxes are wild animals and need specialist care. they are NOT pets and will be unhappy kept in a home environment. i wonder how many will be kill them through "kindness" or get killed at the end of this fad when people realise they can't care for them or get bored?
OMFG! ITS SOOOO CUTE! I MUST HAVE ONE!!!
I think the foxes are so cute! The only problem is that there's like a billion cats and dogs in shelters dying by the millions currently, and people decide to take foxes that were doing perfectly fine in the wild and domesticate them so that they eventually end up like the dogs and cats. I still gave it a thumbs up because the "come hither" photo was actually arousing me, so that was a really good photo! I have a feeling that what I just typed was too much info, but who cares? Anyways, back to the topic at hand. So my stand goes with the crowd: the foxes are insanely cute (I WANT ONE!!!!), but they shouldn't be taken out of the wild or else they will suffer the same fate as all the dying cats and dogs in the shelters. You know how we think the apocalypse will occur in 2012? Well, I say that the apocalypse is already starting to occur for dogs and cats, and the name of the disaster can easily be called human. And perhaps Fennec Foxes will suffer the same fate if we survive. If that's the case, I urge the apocalypse to come sooner so these cute little foxes don't die by the millions once there's too many of them.
Fennecs: "the only species of fox you can be keep as a pet."
Not informed enough to have an opinion on this subject.
State that it can be a pet, then show a gallery of "adorable" pictures... Stupid. Look at videos on Youtube and you can see that those things are far from cuddly.
I didn't give this page a thumbs up because I think it's a good idea. quite the opposite, in fact. there are too many animals in shelters that need homes, and it would be a shame if these foxes suffered the same fate.
I DID, however, give the page a thumbs up just because the pictures are adorable
they are wonderful to see they look like Gremlins the movie before they Morp but as everyonesays they are wildlife and they should be kept in the wilds why everyone has to make pets of everything.
From the page: "Fennec Fox - An Adorable Fox You Can Keep as a Pet So Long as You're Responsible About It"
Wild animals deserve to be in the wild.
