in general a pretty good list of how to detect lies. The biggest one, you have to be open to the idea that someone could be lying to you. That is the catch. If you don't want to believe someone is lying to you, everything will appear truthful.
ketogah...another thing the list should add, is the if the behavior of the liar has abruptly changed...if they normally fidget and then don't, red flag. The majority of reasonably normal folk live their lives acting the same way day to day, any modification in day to day behavior is the first red flag to someone doing something different in their lives, good or bad.
about half of these are SO far off it's depressing, and the rest are still fairly crappy.I mean, honestly, I do half of these in non-lying situations all the time. I avoid eye contact with many people, I fidget, I over explain, I justify, etc etc. As for when I'm lying, it's generally such a quick lie, that you'll never be able to tell anyway.
I already knew some of these!
If someone who knows what he is going to be asked will surely have prepared himself. The best liars in the world are the most thorough ones.
