You can do many of these with lemon juice, too.
OHHHH MY GOD IT HAS ACID IN IT?!? I'LL NEVER DRINK IT AGAIN - Me, Chemical Engineer
How many thumbs down in a row is required for this to be stumbled no more?
Thanks for that, I'll be sure to tell everybody I know.
Poster appears to have a lack of understanding for basic chemistry....
Fails at truth.
burn in hell!
The point of this is supposed to be how toxic Coca Cola is. The "proof" is that it has phosphoric acid in it. Newsflash: your stomach has hydrochloric acid in it, which has a pH betwen 2 and 3. This is normal. Also, the way that coke reacts with various metals (assuming this is true) has nothing to do with your digestive system, unless your GI tract is made of steel. Bad science. If you want to know what's actually bad about drinking coke, start with the sugar content.
While I know some of those things to be true, the idea that coke can dissolve a nail is complete urban legend.
what do do with coke?
From the page: "COCA-COLA: THE REAL TRUTH
Just when you thought you knew everything...
To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl. Let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, And run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains.
It will also clean road haze from your windshield. AND WE DRINK THIS STUFF!
FYI: The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It's pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. To carry Coca Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material placards reserved for Highly Corrosive materials. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!"
Yup. We actually down cans of the stuff everyday.
How to destroy your clothing:
