Oh so true... :)
Oh so true... :)
It was hilarious the first time and now it's even more fun.
EstimatedProphet said "Bible bashing makes all atheists look bad." Yeah, to religious people who believe in obvious fantasy. What exactly makes you think atheists are concerned about what confused sheep think of them? When you base your worldview around childish fairytales you're asking to be mocked and laughed at.
Love it. Add my name to the growing list of those asking for the stickers, and then I'm goin' on a road trip for the sole purpose of slapping that sticker on each and every stupid bible I find in a drawer next to the ludicrously uncomfortable bed. There was a time that I honestly tried... and even wanted to believe in religion. Not christianity, but I wanted to believe all the same. I went to weeks upon weeks of services not to join in the singing & praying, but to read the english translations of those prayers. I grew more disgusted, and felt more alienated with every visit, until I finally knew I simply did not belong. More importantly, I learned that I in fact did not WANT to belong.
I want a sticker too! I love this! and it has nothing to do with atheism and everything to do with using your brain! Its got the same content as some of the worst movies and news stories out there today and yet i dont see the right stumbling over their feet to block it from our children.
So .. where can I buy these stickers? =)
Amusing, but also very true. Christianity causes a great deal of turmoil in the world. Many times it's possitive effects are overshadowed by its negative effects.
If the religious right gets to put "evolution is not a science" on the inside cover of school textbooks, then we should be able to put this on the inside cover of the bible.
It's only fair.
So should the bible be censored for younger children? If magazines with explicit content are being moved to the top shelf so little kids can't buy them - should the Bible as well?
Oh man, I need to print a ton of these and head out to my friendly neighborhood Barnes & Noble.
You may laugh but in Britain 1% of the population actually believes that Lord of the Rings is in some way based on real history; so maybe that should come with the same warning. No Sh_t. Actually I love the Bible - I just don't think it is true. The Revised English Bible is my favourite version: they have not edited out (or mis-translated) all the bits fundamentalists have trouble with.
