I like modern architecture just fine. But, to force it onto an historical structure is criminal, and I think it ruins both modern and ancient intentions. By the time our older structures have been forever marred by modern architectural graffiti, a new generation will lose the original view of many old buildings. We need those older reminders of architecture. They need to remain intact. I intensely dislike the modern glass Pyramid at the Louvre, though I am a fan of Pei. Same goes for the modern new entrance at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the new entrance in another LANDMARKED building--the Morgan Library. It is shameful and they have cut it into many pieces inside and ruined the pretty little lawn that marked this landmark to be a resident.
