I am so glad I stumbled on this site! Thank you, whoever posted it.
I live in a culturally and racially diverse extended family, but my immediate family is white save my little sister. She grew up looking up to fair skinned, straight haired blonde women, and has always had a negative view of her own appearance. She's wanted to straighten her hair and look more like us for years.
I have been trying to keep her surrounded by visuals of strong, proud, and naturally beautiful women of color so she can learn to love her textured hair and rich colored skin - so she can see herself the way we and God see her.
I see this site a source I can use to expose her to her sisters of the world and how they carry and love themselves.
Thanks again, Internet!
