Well Gauss said that arithmetic is the queen of mathematics. And Gauss is the Chuck Norris of mathematics

Did you just try to say arithmetic is not mathematics ? Tsk tsk, you might as well drop out of uni.

I found this offensive. Firstly, Arithmetic *is* a branch of mathematics. Secondly, how is arithmetic intuitive yet mathematics as a whole not. You still need to know the rules to get the correct answer, even with something as basic as addition. Try explaining your additions to a culture who deals with a different numerical system. And finally how is this profound:

F = W = ma = mg

ma = mg

a = g

Aside from the fact it is wrong as it assumes gravity is the only acting force and doesn't define the assumption (consider an astronaut during launch or a stunt pilot), it's kind of like saying:

"I have an apple in my hand."

"An apple is a fruit."

"Therefore I have a fruit in my hand."

Profound...

This is a non-issue and is arguing semantics. Arithmetic is a branch of mathematics. While relatively simple it is still an important foundation of learning mathematics and has beauty of its own. This image is pretentious pseudo-intellectual pandering.

agreed to this mindset about 5 years ago.

Uhm... Arithmetic is math. It's not just math, it's the bases for almost all other branches of math.

Skill in arithmetic translates to skill in higher math, if you develop a good understand of numbers and how they work. It also works in reverse... a good understanding of higher math can help you perform basic arithmetic more effectively and easily if you understand numbers and how they work.

And finally, to say that arithmetic can not be beautiful is to deny the beauty of numbers and their quirks.
