Pretty well constructed in all. Nice design. OK results. A lot of the criticisms seem valid: you could just watch your kids more closely, you might consider not lying to them, and there does seem to be more of a stress on censoring nudity and obscenity than basic info about violence. But I did a whole bunch of searches, and I'm impressed overall by how appropriate the results seem to be. Some of them are, not surprisingly, quite funny: (1) "freud" is censored but "orgone" is not, (2) searched "aslick" and it returned "did you mean asslick," which I clicked to find a downloadable porno movie on filetube, and (3) searched "ejackulate" to find all kinds of info that presumably parents interested in such a website would find objectionable. (2) and (3) suggest one serious design flaw in dealing with misspellings. But, for all I know, by the time anyone reads this, the problem will be fixed...?
Such a clever idea, and very much needed these days
euthanasia, baby hitler, chinese laundry i don't want my kid to know about those things!!!! :D
also rape and rapist say "oops! try again" but rapists works fine :-)
just be creative
Yes, a few juicy ones slip through when you search for "ho". For fun, I tried "Freud". The third result, "Sigmund Freud and Child Development", may give one pause...
This is a good search engine for kids. I entered an obscene word and what turned up was, "Ooops! Try again!" lol;
I like www.safe-find.com because it has safe search on images
www.safe-find.com is better and has been around a lot longer
Google for kids
That is the cutest thing ever.
Adorable. A safe place to allow my DD to search for "dress up dolls."
going to use this search engine for tutoring.
I like the idea.
I really don't see what this has to do with K-12 education
it wouldn't even let me search for " fart " c'mon.......?
