"Create interactive stories, animations"
Programming language for kids from MIT. Wonderful, intuitive UI. IDE makes your program creation an experience similar to playing with Lego blocks. Exports to Java app which can be placed online.
Message passing, multithreaded (a thread per sprite) model is fun.
that what i looked for to teach kids programming
From the page: "Scratch is a new programming language that lets you create your own animations, games, and interactive art." this is a free program that is currently in development stage but seems to work great, it is the best I know of for teaching kids how to program
Scratch is a new programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art -- and share your creations on the web.
Scratch is designed to help young people (ages 8 and up) develop 21st century learning skills. As they create and share Scratch projects, young people learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.
Scratch is free of charge
It's too bad that there's no Linux/Unix version of this...
Use for this is useful perhaps in our project...?
I got this from IWilliamm. It is programming for kids. I will get my grandsons, David and Daniel on it. They will enjoy it.
Un langage pour initier les enfants à la programmation, mieux que Logo.
One of the coolest little animation programs I've come across. Great for kids and kids at heart :))
