Interesting article :)

No, totally remove ANY information about your parents meeting, because that's irrelevant.
Actually, a lot of the math here was irrelevant.
Genetically, just take the chance that the sperm fertilizes the egg, develops a zygote / attaches to the uterine wall / ends in a successful pregnancy
A lot larger than the shitty odds they gave you.
I'm not sure I agree with the reasoning. If for each one of us, there are 10^45000 (or whatever) people who weren't born, then there was basically a 100% chance that one of those people would have been born. They may not be genetically identical to each one of us, but they'd be so close it doesn't even matter.
there is a one hundred percent chance of my dad meeting my mom. the same goes for everyone that could read this. the conditon that it is me mum and me dad is what makes it so
well given the sheer size of the universe and the seemingly infinite number of random interactions going on within it over the course of time, it would be understandable to assume any possibility has already occured, especially when you account for parallel universes. With a scale of that maginitude, virtually anything you can imagine has probably happened
whoa. this totally mind fucked me....
The made up statistics... the bullshit numbers...
This is utter garbage.
Utter nonsense gibberish. What are the odds you read what I am writing? It's meaningless to ask about the odds for something that definitely did happen at this scale because what really has happened happened exactly the way it happened and even though it easily could have happened another way it in fact *didn't*.
And for that jackass nicholasjmcclure: evolution is a fact that stands upon billions of pieces of evidence. Even if you're too ignorant to understand the word "theory" in its scientific context - which you are - it doesn't change the fact that you and I and ever living thing you'll likely ever see are the product of evolution from a common ancestor. Get over it.
Does no one else get annoyed with the phrase "almost zero". Mathematically this makes no sense when you're talking about a specific number. Even if it's a very small number, there's a number 1000... times smaller that is a hell of a lot closer to zero.
muy buenas infografias
Oh, so now evolution is just fact?
I thought it was still a theory that doesn't stand up on it's own.
Oh wait. It is.
The infographic is rubbish (as they tend to be), but the top comment is good.
Tim Tebow is jesus.
This is why Arithmetic should be taught even at College-Level courses.
lol its a paradox because those other possible people did not exist to acknowledge that they did not exist and in physics the chance of me existing in this universe is 1 so not very much a miracle but its fun to think about
