Now THIS is what our plates should look like! You don't have to slap a vegetarian or vegan label on your head. But clearly, if you want a healthier lifestyle, eating more veggies and grains is the way to do it. I listen to so many people who marvel that I could give up meat in my vegan lifestyle because, "I've GOT to have my chicken" or "my fish" or "what kind of Thanksgiving table doesn't have a turkey laying in the middle of the table?" Well, look at this plate folks. The protein section is still there - it's just smaller than the other sections because if you're eating a balance diet, you're getting plenty of protein. But we need more of the veggies and grains to keep things moving in our digestive system. I'll tell you what - just try it this way for a month - 30 days. What can you lose?
