Written in language my students can relate to!
It is time people learned their damn homophones!
I always have trouble with this stuff. Thus, I am pretty thankful... not putting on any affectations here...
"I'm tired of this shit."
Learn English Gramma
Thank, thank, thank you!!!
just have to agree
Hehe... yup.. let's do our best...
yeah... what bootle said.
Can we start shooting grammar nazis now?
No, you see this guy can use profanity all he wants because people are misspelling/misusing words. Prove me wrong.
I nitpick at English mistakes sometimes, but I also allow that English is a RIDICULOUS language, so... mistakes shall be made. Also, using a swear every other word doesn't make something witty or funny. Sigh.
The example sentences for "Discrete" and "Discreet" are awful. Loose and Lose aren't homophones, and in many cases neither are Than and Then (there's an awesome article about this in Bybee and Hopper 2001 for any Linguists out there).
The author would do well to study the history of the English language a little bit. If he/she/they truly understood what a clusterfuck English is compared to many other languages, they might have a little more sympathy for the confused L1 learner.
