The basic concept of making human figures out of different spatial structures is intriguing, but I wish there was a little more breadth to Gormley's work. I think I'd appreciate it much more were I able to see it in person.

One of the best sculptors/installation artists around.
Contempory art by Antony Gormley
Hmmm........ he's an astounding artist and is one of my favs in sculpture........ his attributes are many..... his strongest point for me is that his installations transport me to an alternative place.........opening my mind to a gripping portrayal of an idea made radical that otherwise would fade away silently............ his creativity truly speaks to me on a primal level..........
Website for one of the most popular artists in the UK.
Distinctive sculpture that raises debate.
incredible artist. if he isn't blowing your mind you are dead inside.
This is Antony Gormley's "Passage", a sculpture in concrete measuring 36x44x229cm. All of his work is marked by a stillness on the verge of movement. There is a great feeling, and respect, for the human form and yet it is sorrowful: little people in a big universe, always hopeful. "Passage", in particular, gives the idea of Man pulled through his various trials and tribulations which is, after all, our daily situation. This is very moving and mesmerising work.
Thanks to deltadreamer SU for drawing my attention to this artist.
