no "e" 's
no "e" 's
as a writer, the work involved in putting together something like this is astounding....wow.
At first, I thought "So What?"
Then I read the first paragraph and I thought "wow", because I never thought it would be possible... :)
THE ENTIRE MANUSCRIPT of this story was written with the E type-bar of the typewriter tied down; thus making it impossible for that letter to be printed. This was done so that none of that vowel might slip in, accidentally; and many did try to do so!
must have taken a lot of time... I think I'll do the same but without using the letter 'k' .... everyone has to start somewhere..
An example of some brilliance of a person who wrote a story without the letter "e": "had had a champion to stand up for it"
Count me unimpressed...and get a life. Why on earth would you do this, unless possibly because you don't like women, cars or sports?
This crazy guy thought of writing a story without using "e" at all. Just as I did with this paragraph. And it's truly difficult to always find practical synonyms for all the words you can't say. I can't grasp writing fifty thousand words in this style though.
An entire manuscript of over 50,000 words, written without using the letter "e".
From the page: "People, as a rule, will not stop to realize what a task such an attempt actually is. As I wrote along, in long-hand at first, a whole army of little E's gathered around my desk, all eagerly expecting to be called upon. But gradually as they saw me writing on and on, without even noticing them, they grew uneasy; and, with excited whisperings amongst themselves, began hopping up and riding on my pen, looking down constantly for a chance to drop off into some word; for all the world like sea-birds perched, watching for a passing fish! But when they saw that I had covered 138 pages of typewriter size paper, they slid off onto the floor, walking sadly away, arm in arm; but shouting back:
'You certainly must have a hodge-podge of a yarn there without Us! Why, man! We are in every story ever written, hundreds of thousands of times! This is the first time we ever were shut out!'"
A 50000 word story that doesn't use the letter e.
