I've been looking for something like this for years.
I'm really glad stumble brought it to me.
Really helps us to improve our reading ability.
How fast can you read?
Might be a good idea to visit every day and practice for 10 minutes.
Great tool for improving my speed reading everyday.
180 to 240 words per minute? Goddamn. I don't even read that slow when I'm trying to absorb a short story's imagery, etc. That's insane. I mean, I wouldn't doubt it, but... damn. I'm at about...530 words per minute. Yay for censorship!
Thumbsing up so I can use it later :D Really neat device. Can't wait to use this on scientific publications~
I never thought I would find a website with exercises with an interface speed reading as good as this!
I dont like the fact it slows down reading by fixating on words, as thats not how people read. people tend to read in sachades (probably not spelled right didn't want to refer to a study or text book) our eyes continuously look and re read the sentance without having to take in the sentence unless there is an error that we fixate on to make sense of the sentence.
I prefer reading /better/ to reading /faster/.
I find this jarring and choppy. It's easier to speed through 1500 WPM without the aid of a side-scrolling online tool. Easier to pick up on keywords, as well.
To quote from Wikipedia: "No evidence exists that normal non-observable subvocalizing will negatively affect any reading process."
PhotonInstaller, if you're trying to say you're a better reader than most, why are you thinking it's talking about you when it talks about most people?
Dude, i read that at 970wpm before it started getting too fast for me. and that's with no caffiene...
Reading is that one activity that we do every
day but we don't really practice. Most people learn
the basics of reading in kindergarten and
never graduate to the next levels. You are probably
using the same basic rudimental tools.....
tell that to my 250-ish books
