You know what'll get a woman ahead in business culture? Less sexism, dumbass.
When I read the title I actually looked to see whether this was menarebetterthanwomen.com. He has a point that women are typically socialised to be more passive than men and that's not an advantage in business, but then he frames it to look like men NATURALLY act in the best possible way and therefore women should imitate them; and further, we should just accept that men rule in business, so obviously we need to pander to them even if that's unfortunate. Note that he definitively frames 'feminine' behaviour as bad and 'masculine' as good; it's "what women shouldn't do." I almost think he WANTED To cause a fuss to get attention, because none of the behaviours are actually THAT female-specific, and he could have just called it something like "The 10 behaviours of successful businesspeople" and had almost the exact same content. Also ~*~MY DAUGHTERS~*~ lol no-one cares
Number one behavior that keeps women from getting ahead: Being a woman in a sexist business culture.
Article on behaviors that keep women from getting ahead besides having kids.
I don't think it is a coincidence that the blogger looks like Dick Cheney. O.o
Sexist, and asinine.
Why should women have to be more like a man to get ahead? No. Just no to this article.
Misguided. I would rather give the advice of "Speak softly, but carry a big stick."
The article is rather sexist and infuriating, yes, but the comments by readers below it are insightful and worth a read.
If this were written by a woman, it might mean something, but this guy is just an ass hole.
BLANKET STATEMENTS ABOUT GENDERS FTW!
Oh sorry, Mr. Important Man, I guess I'm a poor weak woman and I need your masculine sensibility to teach me how to be a useful and powerful member of society.
Don't really care about female nor male managers, but I liked this anyway.
