What the crap is this? Awful lesson... If you get beat up by 3 dudes 3 times your size, you should definitely go back for more, this time with a hammer! I'm sure they won't break your arm off snatching the hammer from you, and then beat you to death. Nope.
The comic artist doesn't quite understand the poem it seems. It's sad to do all that great artwork just to show how they are not the captain of their soul.
what fucked up logic is this?? isn't this the very same mentality that is being fighted against in the UE right now? the one that leads stupid people to put guns in colleges? what kind of retarded artist dedicates time and effort to something like this?
Later that day, Billy was convicted for murder.
Yes, let's promote homicidal revenge. That's a great lesson for our children. I hope my sarcasm is noted. What a frightening twist on a hope-inducing poem. Watch "Invictus" if you haven't.
The comic is missing the panel where the bullies easily grab the hammer and kill the boy.
A very interesting illustration. Don't read it morally. Just read it.
interesting. not real sure of my feelings on this...
I am almost certain that revenge is not justifiable under any circumstance. The path to enlightenment begins with releasing fear, ignorance, and attachment. Anger is a product of fear. I love this poem, but never once interpreted the nobility delivered by invictus as justification to beat people with a hammer
unfortunately, he is not making the right choice. this will be considered assault with a deadly weapon. and if one dies, it will be premeditated murder.
The end justifies the means. He will only do this once while if he let them go, they will continue to bully. It takes the good will of one to stop the continual bad will of many.
There are moments, just moments where you find something on the internet that makes you stop and reflect. This was one of them. I, for one, am glad he decided to fight back.
Same feelings here about this, great poem but not the best message in the comic
It was a good poem, and a nice situation, but I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that it promotes murdering bullies with a hammer.
wait what? this is not a positive light for this poem.
