Just like on StumbleUpon for your desktop, the updated mobile apps have a simpler, more visual home screen (The updated iPhone screen on the left and Android on the right).

We introduced the new StumbleUpon at the end of 2011 to help make it easier for StumbleUpon members to discover new and interesting things from across the Web. The StumbleUpon experience was completely redesigned to enable people to engage more deeply with the great content that is at the core of Stumbling. The extensive overhaul included a revamped site design, new logo and the introduction of Channels — relevant content handpicked by people, sites and brands which is included in users’ Stumble streams.

As result of the redesign, users have more ways to explore the Web using StumbleUpon. Now, we’ve updated our mobile apps further to be simpler, more visual and easier to use. You can start Stumbling by tapping on the larger Interest thumbnails, by entering a phrase in the Explore Box or simply by swiping the screen of your device. You can also follow Channels you like and Stumble more content hand-picked by that Channel curator. We’ve also added the ability to sign in to StumbleUpon using your Google Account.

This update coincides with our trip to Barcelona for Mobile World Congress 2012. We will be a featured developer at the Android stand located in Hall 8 – so if you’re attending MWC, stop by and say “Hi” to our team. We’ll be debuting the latest StumbleUpon App for Android that integrates some innovative Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) features like Action Bar (making app navigation more contextual), Android Beam (which makes sharing simple between two NFC-enabled devices running Android 4.0), and a Resizable Widget (allowing for StumbleUpon content to be previewed directly from the device home screen without having to launch the StumbleUpon app), as well as the ability to share content from StumbleUpon with your connections on Google+.

If you haven’t yet tried the StumbleUpon App for Android or the StumbleUpon App for iPhone and iPad now is a great time to take the same surprise-filled discovery experience you love on your desktop with you wherever you go.
