Today we’re introducing a new personalized homepage for logged-in users, designed for easy access to your favorite stumbling options. Beginning today, upon logging in to your account you’ll find yourself on this new homepage, titled Channels.  The familiar Recent Activity page remains easily accessible, as shown in the image below.

So what can you stumble from the new homepage?

By displaying all your stumbling options in one place, the new Channels page allows those of you who don’t have StumbleUpon installed on your browser to more easily choose a specific stumbling experience.

The New Channels Homepage

  1. Your Topics: The main panel displays the topics to which you’ve subscribed. From here you can select any individual topic to stumble pages within only that topic.  The Edit Interests link on the lower right allows you to select additional topics from the more than 500 we offer!
  2. Following: Stumbling in this channel will recommend pages that were liked by people you follow on StumbleUpon.
  3. Photos: This channel is exclusively for photos and websites about photography.
  4. Videos: This button switches you to StumbleUpon Video mode. In this mode, you are stumbling only videos, either from people you follow, by topic or by provider: YouTube, Vimeo, Hulu, Ted, etc. (Personal tip: this channel works great if you hook up your computer to your TV at home.)
  5. News: Articles recently submitted to StumbleUpon about top news worldwide.
  6. Sites: This link takes you to our 24 StumbleThru channels, ranging from News (CNN, BBC, PBS), to blogging platforms (Blogspot, WordPress, TypePad), to educational sites (Scientific American, HowStuffWorks, Wired) to Humor (The Onion, FunnyOrDie, CollegeHumor) and so on.

StumbleThru Channels allows you to stumble only pages from a certain website:

Give it a whirl! We hope you like the changes and, as always, we look forward to your feedback. (Note: If you use Internet Explorer with the StumbleUpon toolbar installed, the “News” channel will not be visible. All other Internet Explorer users will be able to access the “News” channel. Also, if you are a user of the StumbleUpon Addon for Firefox, the “Channels” page will become your new homepage when we release the next addon version.)
